Officer Requirements
- ✓ Employed as a law enforcement officer in Utah
- ✓ First-time homebuyer (no ownership in past 3 years)
- ✓ Purchasing primary residence in Utah
- ✓ Must maintain LE employment for forgiveness
Loan & Property
- ✓ Use a Utah Housing participating lender
- ✓ UHC loan (FirstHome, FHA, or VA)
- ✓ Meet UHC income & credit requirements
- ✓ Property within UHC purchase price limits
How Forgiveness Works
The grant is forgiven at 20% per year for each year you continue working as a law enforcement officer in Utah:

If you leave LE employment before 5 years, the unforgiven balance becomes due.
